Well here we actually go! For the past six years we've been wanting to leave the country and now that we're going it's kind unreal. No Christmas carols (thank you tiny baby Jesus all swaddled in your golden fleece diapers), no construction in the rain (this one's Hata's), no rocky ski slopes barely covered in man-made snow, and no figgy pudding. Actually, we wouldn't have had figgy pudding even if we were here, mainly because we've never had it, though it sounds quite tasty.....
So we are sorry to have to say goodbye to all you guys but maybe a few pupusas on the banks of Lago de Coatepeque in El Salvador will take away our sorrow. Lots of love to you!

Hey, kids--how about entering your itinerary (rough as it might be) here so we can follow. Let us know you landed safely and found café or pupusas or golden figgy diaper fleece. Louise, Jane, the house, and I are not as lively since you left. Looking forward to the adventures from here. love, e (PS--ok, I'm sure Maybelle misses you too, though she doesn't show it much.)
Can't wait to hear how baby Jesus sounds so much better in Spanish. Take lots of pictures for the rest of us shopping and baking last minute in the holiday rush.....love you guys!
Agree with Ed - need to know that you found the pupusas - and what about the mansion that you will stay in. How was the WARM air of San Salvador when you got out of the airport. You need to know it was the COLDEST morning in the Bay Area this morning this season - and you missed it! This will be your second day in CA - make your way to an internet cafe!!
